Hey I'm currently exhibiting at the new F.E McWilliam Gallery in Banbridge, in an exhibition called Designer & Maker 2009. It's a really interesting exhibition comprising of textiles, ceramics, metalwork, furniture and much much more!! The exhibition runs until 17th January so make sure you check it out!
Nice blogs and the art of researching!!
Today I cam across textile artist Carolyn Saxby's blog a brilliant find documenting all types of textile and media techniques and manipulation - takes me back to art college days!!! Check it out http://carolynsaxby.blogspot.com/
I also began to research ways to naturally dye fabrics, can achieve some fab colours and is ethically sound!! I'll keep you posted on that one!

Hello hello hello
Hi I'm Jane Allen and I'm an applied artist with a background in Textile Crafts. The emphasis of my practice is on texture, decoration and the hybrid mix of traditional and contemporary techniques; to create simple, uncomplicated fabrics and sculptural forms. While I specialise in embroidery and surface manipulation, my practice extents to painting, print and mixed media.
I like to designs and makes bespoke interior fabrics, decorative artifacts, installations, and works for architectural spaces; my recent work plays with the idea of transparency and opacity, through layering and pleating techniques.
I loves the opportunity to work and design on any number of projects so don't hesitate to get in touch!
